Bayshore History
A
Family Business Since 1953
Bayshore International began as a family
business and today we continue the tradition.
Founded in 1953 by
Stanley Machado, Bayshore International began as Stanley’s
Automotive in San Mateo, California, the first gas station to have
an adjustable lifting hoist for trucks in the
area. Soon thereafter, International Harvester approached Stanley
about becoming a dealer, and before he knew it, he had a full yard
of trucks, from Class 8 tractors to Scouts, the predecessor of
today’s popular SUV’s.
Over the years, truck sales capabilities
were expanded and parts and service added. In 1969, Stanley sold
the business to his son,
Roger Machado and longtime business partner Russ Kirkpatrick.
Roger
and Russ changed the name to Bayshore International and aggressively
expanded the business in the 1970s and 80s. In 1982, BIT Idealease
was created by Bayshore International and became one of the founding
members of Idealease, now the third largest truck leasing company
in North America.
In 1994, Roger and Russ acquired the Hayward
location,
making Bayshore International the first and only truck dealership
with full sales,
services, parts, and leasing operations on both sides of the bay.
By
1996, Roger and Russ were ready to retire, and so, sold the business
to the next generation, Dean Machado and Craig Peterson. Since
then, the new owners have increased business three-fold. In 2000,
2001, 2002,
and 2003 BIT Idealease achieved I.D.E.A.L. Gold, the highest level
for an Idealease affiliate. In 2002, Bayshore International and
BIT Idealease earned International’s most prestigious Circle
of Excellence.
Now in our 50th year, owners Craig Peterson and Dean
Machado continue the commitment to providing you, our customer,
the best trucks,
service, and support. With a team of over 100 experienced and dedicated
staff, Bayshore International / BIT Idealease is committed to exceeding
all of your expectations and providing trucks to help you run a
profitable business.
